How to Make and Cancel an Appointment

All surgeries are by appointment with the Doctor or Nurse of your choice, if available, and booked at a minimum of 10 minute intervals.

Please note that when you book an appointment you will be asked a series of questions, these questions will help us in the following ways;

  • To try and ensure we are able to give you an appropriate appointment for your needs
  • From the most appropriate health professional
  • At the most appropriate time

Chirk

Appointments at Chirk may be made by calling at the surgery or by phoning reception on 01691 772 434 from 8.00 a.m.- 6.30 p.m. We have several incoming lines so please be patient if your call is not answered immediately.  Please note that all calls to the surgery are recorded for training and monitoring purposes.

 
On-line Appointment Booking System

From 1st December 2015, patients can book routine appointments to see a GP at Chirk through our on-line booking facility.  Please ask at reception for a registration form which provides all the information you will need to use the My Health Online internet facility.  You will need to bring some form of ID with you (photographic) before you can be issued with a password and pin number.  If you have already registered for repeat prescriptions on My Health Online, you are automatically registered for the appointment booking facility which can be accessed by clicking on the 'Book your Appointment' icon on the homepage.  You can also cancel appointments using the on-line facility.

St Martins

Appointments at St Martins may be made by calling at the surgery or by phoning reception on 01691 773 334 during opening hours. If St Martins is closed your call will be automatically transferred to Chirk; Receptionists there will be able to make an appointment for you at St Martins.  Please note that all calls to the surgery are recorded for training and monitoring purposes.

If you cannot keep an appointment please let us know so that it can be offered to someone else.

 

Urgent Appointments

Please telephone the surgery and make it clear to the Receptionist that you consider your case is urgent. We currently run a GP triage system for urgent appointments and home visits. When you call a receptionist will ask for details of your problem and your telephone number. A doctor will then call you back and agree a course of action with you. This may result in an appointment a home visit or advice.

 

Emergencies

One doctor is on call each day for emergencies in addition to his/her normal work - please only call if you really cannot wait.

 

Minor Surgery

Doctors perform minor surgery at Chirk Hospital each day of the week. When you see your doctor he/she will ask you to contact the hospital in order to make an appointment.
